When we talk about our favorite songs, we say about all the things the song expresses. We boast about the chief ingredients of the song, how every phase of the song is unique in our perspective. Behind all this is the remarkable effort of the artist who used his experience and time to prepare a piece of art that is loved so much by the audience.
The song ‘KYUN YAADON MEIN’ is a fabulous piece of art by Anmol and Prateek of MITRAZ. The song itself shows the amount of work that has been done on it from the very start to the end. The song, besides being a massive hit over the labels and YouTube, has provided an excellent start for MITRAZ. The production involved many ups and downs.
Anmol, the leading producer of MITRAZ, said that the idea of this song was stuck in his head a year ago. He thought of making a track about a lover who is patiently waiting for the love of his life. The lover faces various psychological problems because of the imagination of someone who comes in his dream. So the name ‘KYUN YAADON MEIN’ was decided. Anmol and Prateek thus came up with this idea of the song and wrote the lyrics which could fit best for the song and something that the audience can hummit easily.
The melody of the song was made within a few days on a natural minor scale. The melody expressed everything about the song, as was wished by Anmol and Prateek. Hence, after a few days, the lyrics were to be written over this melody. The words were changed slightly as some parts of the song had few overhead turns.
After writing the lyrics within 5 days of time, Prateek thought of recording the temporary vocals. The vocals recording session took a few hours. The main reason behind the recording of the vocals was to build a chord progression that could suit the emotions of the song and help to strum the guitar for the song.
Prateek, in his interview, said that the chord building process was the toughest job, and the atmosphere of excitement had turned into an atmosphere of frustration. He said that at that very moment, not a single chord progression could surprise them or not even satisfy them.
One week later, a chord progression that could fit the song was found after a lot of effort. Prateek said that they were amazed at the chords as they were hidden in between the other chords they had chosen over and over again.
The chord progression was made after much hard work and obstacles. Now the next thing that was to be done was to record the original vocals over the chord progression that was built. Before recording the vocals, Prateek and Anmol faced a little problem related to the melody. The melody was not very swift compared to the chord progression, and it affected most parts of the song. Then, Prateek increased the speed of the melody until all the things sounded perfect.
With that being done, the vocals were ready to be recorded, and the vocal recording sessions took a few hours. The song was divided into three parts, the verse, pre-chorus, and the chorus. These parts were shared between Anmol and Prateek. The vocals were recorded perfectly as per the expectation.
The music production process had now begun, and Anmol and Prateek both wanted the use of calm and soothing instruments, which could add more to the emotions of the song. Hence the necessary instruments that were to be added were chosen. Each instrument was tested with the vocals and the ambiance of the song.
A lot of instruments were tried, and finally, an acoustic guitar was selected as it was perfect for the song, boosting the emotions of the song and filling the space between the vocals and the ambiances. A soft piano accompanied with few low pass filtered saws was added. The choice of drums was made, keeping in mind that they may have a good impact on the listener’s ear.
The mixing and mastering of the song was done with the removal of other surrounding sounds and boosting the clean sounds of the instruments and the vocals. Hence the journey of making the song ‘KYUN YAADON MEIN’ was fascinating as per the personal views of Anmol and Prateek.
