The song ‘KYUN YAADON MEIN,’ although sounds as a combined form of various musical knacks with every part holding an attraction in the ear of the listener, is not made in a perfect chronological order of ‘Song production.’ The various elements are not made as per the present generation’s song building process but to create all the necessary environment for the essential part of the song ‘The vocals.’
The leading composer and producer of MITRAZ, Anmol Ashish, shared the technique of making the song ‘KYUN YAADON MEIN’. He, along with Prateek Singh of MITRAZ, wrote the Melody of the song. There was a need for a Melody which suits the present generation’s mainstream outlook for music. The Melody writing process did not take much time, and the finished melody was beyond expectations, with every part holding a deep wave of emotions, each phase leading to the other.
After writing the Melody, writing the lyrics was the next move in the direction of song production. Anmol wrote the lyrics of the verse, and the combined effort of Anmol and Prateek was used for writing the lyrics of the pre-chorus and chorus. The lyric writing process took a remarkable time as it takes the most amount of the listener’s attraction. The song was decently written with a lot of emotions in words throughout the song.
With the finalization of the lyrics, they were recorded within two days with the song divided equally into three parts with a verse, pre-chorus, and chorus sung by Anmol and Prateek. The vocals were recorded, keeping in mind that the track must suit the present day’s audience critics with a clean, airy voice with no Fossello and long-range breaks.
After recording and a bit of mixing of the vocals, the music for the track was made. The instrument which suited the atmosphere and filled the ambiance of the vocals was a hand strummed acoustic guitar. So, the very next day, Prateek recorded the guitar following the chord progression on which the Melody was written.
With the addition of the instruments, ambiances, and primary effects such as crashes, impacts, exhausts, and risers, etc., the song was to be mixed and mastered. The right amount of time was spent to mix and master the track by the combined effort of Anmol and Prateek. Firstly, the Audio effects were applied to every instrument, respectively, unless the required sound was obtained, and the unwanted noise was eliminated.
Instruments such as the acoustic guitar and the soft piano were mixed perfectly so that no resisting sounds could propagate in the clean mix. The vocals mixing took much time as it was the heart of the song. Mixing of vocals included boosting the higher ends, filtering the fresh voice and eliminating the surrounding sounds, applying the EQ, Reverb, Delay, and filter over it. A necessary audio effect was used on all the other instruments to boost them and make them sound more productive and clean. The different modulation in the mix and master was done in a couple of hours.
The song being mixed and mastered was released on 10th February 2020. Soon after the upload, the song received much love from the public and became a massive hit attracting more listeners over and over towards itself. The effort done on the song by Anmol and Prateek was seen through the positive response from the audience.
Hence this was the story of how the song ‘KYUN YAADON MEIN’ was made. I hope you guys might have learned quite a bit from the process with which the song was made.
