The song ‘KYUN YAADON MEIN’ was written keeping in mind about the idea of a lover who is in search of someone which stays in his memories as the name ‘KYUN YAADON MEIN,’ itself refers. It also refers to a notion of self-questioning of a lover about why the person he is searching for, lives in his memories.
The lyrics of the song ‘KYUN YAADON MEIN’ is the heart of the song as it attracts the listeners by the ear, taking them on a long journey of a lover. The lyrics consisting of a unique choice of elegant words suiting the present day’s audience interests look like one complete cycle of emotions. The lyrics not only seem creative but were also written creatively.
The process involved in writing the lyrics did not follow the manner in which the song develops. Mr. Anmol of MITRAZ firstly wrote the verse. Writing the verse was not an easy job as it acts as an intro to a movie. It holds the listener to the song and helps to keep the listener’s interest in the song. It also acts as a pre-description of the lines used in the chorus.
Anmol knew that if he could not keep the song’s intro attractive, the listeners won’t pay their valuable time listening to the further song. Hence the lyrics of the verse were written upon the Melody made earlier. The lyrics of the verse describes the various feelings and emotions of the lover beginning with ‘Kyun Baadalon mein dil ye kho raha’ with a nostalgic question. The verse writing part was done in 3 days.
After the completion of the verse writing, the main chorus of the song was written, not following the pattern of song flow. The chorus is the central part of the song. The chorus is the brief expression of the feelings and emotions of the verse. The chorus decides whether the listener is coming back to the song, share it with his friends or not. The chorus has to be written precisely with more and more phrases and words that strike the listener in their head.
The combined effort of Anmol and Prateek made them to write the chorus of the song. While writing the chorus, they thought about everything the song wants to convey to the listener. They spent a remarkable time on writing the chorus. Hence, they wrote the chorus at their best and tried to fill it with the words which suited it the most.
The chorus was written in three days, and after it’s completion, the pre-chorus was the next task in their way. The pre-chorus is like a bridge connecting a road and highway. The pre-chorus must be short but also take the listeners swiftly from the verse to the chorus.
Prateek wrote the pre-chorus of the song whithin two days. After the completion of the pre-chorus, the only thing left was writing the second verse, which was to be sung by Prateek. The Melody and emotions were kept the same as the first verse. The only thing that changed was the use of words and phrases. A little more dense and impactful use of words was to be chosen. And hence it was correctly done by Prateek.
All the components of the song were ready, and Anmol and Prateek recorded the alaps in a couple of days completing the entire lyrics of the song ‘KYUN YAADON MEIN’
