Raising More Funds for Your Indie Music.

Those of you who have read my blog “Raising money for Your Indie Music”, would know what you do when you don’t have a label endorsing your music and you need to pick between paying your own bills and paying a studio, publisher or marketing expert.

You raise money!

Don’t let your pride hold you back. There is nothing wrong in asking your friends and family for donations. After all, when you’re successful, aren’t they going to take pride in saying they know you personally and have contributed to your success! You may use PayPal’s Donation platform for credit card transactions. Also, if you are looking to create a website to display your talent, sell your indie music or indie art, or need help with your website, with marketing and cyber development, you may contact Hyper Effects. It helps connecting with your target audience easier. However as I said in my blog “How to Become a Better Indie Artist?”, there are millions of songs playing and selling at all times, all across the world. In order to have your song noticed, you need to make it really good, or it will not take the listener a second to switch to another channel or artist. For donations, you can also create a Facebook page or send an e-mail to SMS to your contacts. When we know someone personally, it mostly feels good to connect with their talent and support them wholeheartedly.

Crowdfunding

Set a goal to raise a specific amount of donation by a specific date. Create a campaign page on the website and ask everyone who sees the page to help you. Promise them a gift if they help you achieve the goal by the set date. IndieGogo and Kickstarter very popular crowdfunding platforms for indie artists, but there are also PledgeMusic, FeedBands, SellABand and Patreon. These are the ones that come to my mind right now. Mr Google should be able to help you with many more names. These websites have some rules for cases where goals are not achieved. Some also have restrictions about where the money can be used. Make sure you understand the rules. Don’t forget to search the web for more options.

Sell or Auction Royalties

Royalties from your existing songs can get you loans for your next project. Just sell the rights to your works on an auction to cash funds. There are online marketplaces to sell royalties. The new owner will purchase your copyright to collect all future royalties.

Loans

Did you know that songwriters or indie artist can get loans without credit check and monthly fees? Some special financial services founded by musicians for musicians. They provide loans or an advance on future royalties to songwriters, producers and indie artists. You can draw cash immediately for pending royalties, without paying a monthly fees or giving up your copyright ownership. It requires no qualification and no credit check.

Licensing Agencies

If you have songs recorded–released or unreleased–you may get those songs placed on advertisements, commercials, TV shows or movies. Licensing a song to a production, earns synchronization fees. As I said in my blog “Publishing Indie Music”, a publisher handles song licensing & registration, creative matters and royalty collection. Licensing & registration is a tedious process that only a publisher can enjoy. Similarly, there are many music licensing agencies available to help you with licensing a song or an album. They contact music supervisors, production companies and advertisers and convince them to license music from indie artist, instead of major recording artists. And drive millions of dollars annually in licensing deals. You can sign-up for one or several of them and check their listings.

Random Side Jobs

Depending on where you live, there may be plenty of weekend and evening side jobs that you can do to raise money. My blog “”, I have written about the availability of infinite ways that you could use to finance your work, but majority of these options begin with a really strong development process. The idea here is to package your upcoming work in a way that will make it irresistible to investors, no matter which investor or platform you’re going to target. And the entire process really begins at the base – the talent. While you are working on your new project, you might also consider spending a few hours a week on a part-time job. Companies seek consumer insight to help make business decisions and this requires part-time workers to take surveys. They companies use market research companies to do target audience for feedback on a service or a product; and they pay you for your time. Search the web to get information on part-time options available online.
